RUSSELL BINDER
PRESIDENT, HALCYON CONSUMER PRODUCTS

Russell Binder is President of Halcyon Consumer Products, a newly formed division of The Halcyon Company.  Binder works closely with Halcyon Company, co-CEOs Victor Kubicek and Derek Anderson and acting Halcyon Games CEO Peter Levin and VP- Development Cos Lazouras to actively scout new financial and creative relationships between entertainment properties in film, television, and gaming.

Prior to his position at the Halcyon Company, Binder created and managed his very own boutique agency, Striker Entertainment.  Striker Entertainment’s business model focused on the areas of entertainment and brand licensing (representation and consulting), management and production (in a partnership with Circle of Confusion), and new business ventures leaning heavily on Binder’s area of expertise including his own Gold Label Goods, an online aggregator of genre licenses based on film, television, and videogame content.  For licensing, clients included Revolution Studios (Hellboy, Rent), Lions Gate Entertainment (the Saw horror franchise, Reservoir Dogs, Frank Miller’s upcoming feature The Spirit), Starz Media, D3 Publishers of America, Heavy Metal Magazine, Avalon Comics, and other independent artists, writers, and content creators.

In 1994, Binder joined the marketing firm of J.A. Roth & Associates, Inc. as a partner.  Binder’s first clients at the prestigious firm included Jim Lee’s Wildstorm Productions (an imprint of DC Comics), Heavy Metal Magazine, and Crusade Entertainment.  At J.A. Roth, Binder created consumer product programs for these clients, while recruiting new companies to represent including Artisan Entertainment, where Binder orchestrated the licensing of The Blair Witch Project.  He also arranged licensing for Revolution Studios’ Hellboy, while simultaneously representing Lions Gate Entertainment for the last three years across their film, television, and home entertainment business.

Binder is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara.  He resides in Calabasas with his wife and two children.
